Roman soldier

Dreams: roman soldier

Since the Roman soldier appeared to me several times in my dreams, and I was already aware of him, I decided that he deserved a separate article.

I'm a Roman soldier, building a fort in a remote province. We dig a deep moat, taller than a man, and then we have to pull people up on ropes or planks. We also drive in a lot of sharpened wooden stakes. I rarely return home on leave because I have a long way to travel on foot.

A young boy supposedly attacks the Roman army, but is deliberately captured. He now goes with them. The Romans bring technology, civilization, wooden grain machines. The boy sometimes disappears to shop; I think he's a spy, passing on information.

Ancient Rome, there are two fresh soldiers: Titus and Pulo (like in the TV series "Rome"). I'm one of them. We don't know what to do in the barracks, we're looking for something to do, we're wandering around. Someone like a sergeant gives us a plaque and the task of engraving a name. He wants to stick a needle above my eye, but my colleague sticks it in his thigh and finger first. The sergeant is surprised but leaves me alone. In the barracks, everyone is doing something, fixing something, no one is bored.

Ancient Rome, I'm an actor on stage, gaining fame, wearing expensive, colorful clothes, but rather like those worn in the Middle Ages. There's a large amphitheater built, like the Colosseum, and many actors live there. I perform for the emperor himself, and my plays and speeches are dangerous because they speak of human freedom from slavery.

A slave wants to get into Rome, he opens a section of the city wall, trying to sneak in. Outside are legion soldiers, inside are horsemen with bows, catching newcomers and fugitives. They want to shoot me too, a slave, so they send a dog after me. I jump onto a wooden structure, dodging the arrows. Wounded and bleeding, I run to the amphitheater, hide among the crowd of actors, hoping for refuge. The soldiers cannot enter.

Ancient Rome. We're standing on a huge staircase, one leading down, the other up. I'm with a friend, looking for our third friend. He's being tortured by soldiers. We think he's dead, his body is carried up the stairs on a horse. I recognize him by his red plaid clothes. They then carry him down the stairs, almost naked. It turns out he's still alive, his face and nose are all swollen, but I recognize him.

Concert. My "journey" took place during K.'s relaxation concert. It's so special because usually the music holds me close to my body and doesn't allow me to "jump" even above the room. And this time the vision was incredible, starting from my previous incarnation, leading all the way to the Archangels -Creators and the Source itself!

I remember the feeling of anger; I hold onto it, nurture it, and empathize with it. It takes me back to my previous incarnation, when I was a young Roman soldier, a hastati. I remember it well, when I dealt with all my problems and emotions with my sword. I melt into that memory, into the simplicity of brutality and killing, of remorselessness and holding in my emotions.

K's singing transports me to Egypt, to the straw hut when M and I were married. I skip to somewhere nearby on the Arabian Peninsula. I am an older, dry, and stern man, and K is my daughter, also dancing and singing. I am the head of the household, the women and children carrying out my fatherly decrees.

I'm a Roman soldier, but from a wealthy family,  a patrician . We're preparing for a battle for our city or camp. We're attacked by Germans living in what is now Poland. I put on metal armor for my chest and back; it's double-shell, and I'm sure it's very expensive. I'm looking for a sword belt. There are many attackers, and we're losing. I command the last group of defenders, but the invaders kill them all.

They deliberately leave me alive to humiliate the Romans and boast back home. I leave the camp alone, sword in hand, and hand it over to their leader in a gesture of surrender. They take me prisoner to their country, but they don't show me maps, so I won't know the route. I try to memorize every detail of the journey.

We arrive at their town, surrounded by a high stone wall. I'm given an apartment and placed under the care of women wearing colorful, patterned clothing. They show me toilets and toilet bowls. I'm surprised, because even here we don't have such facilities. Some of the women are distrustful. I have a mentor, an old man, who looks after me, teaches me, and we go hunting. He smuggles in a map and secretly shows it to me.

A small detachment of Romans appears at the walls, and they drag the envoy onto a chair. I know him, and he recognizes me. We talk; they want to attack the city, but I think there aren't enough of them. The envoy has a secret plan, but for obvious reasons, he's not revealing it. I see the Romans pouring a tar-like substance on the water surrounding the city and setting it on fire. I don't see how that's supposed to help them.

I am a Roman soldier in Britain, commanding a unit. We find ourselves in a hopeless situation, losing a battle in the forest, waiting for reinforcements, but they don't arrive. Everyone dies except me. When I see another wave of attack approaching, I drop my hands, unable to bear the pain anymore. They capture me and take me to a city surrounded by a wooden palisade. I quickly escape behind a wooden wall, am pursued, obtain a spear, and swiftly kill everyone. I head towards the Roman territories.

A Roman fort, I'm Roman, my hands are tied. I take advantage of the guards' distraction, jump on my horse, and escape to the Germans. I have a medallion, and I demand a meeting with their king. I don't speak the language, only Latin and Spanish (presumably spoken in Spain at the time). The Germans find a woman who speaks my language; she acts as my interpreter.

I am a young Roman soldier, Hastati. Hastati: gloria invictus!
